Crikey! The eleventh month of 2021! Where did the year go? Anyway, let’s get into what I managed to achieve this month.
Personal Goals
Home and work life balance
- I survived the OEP, as written in my previous post. I can apply for long service after February of 2023, so until then I’ll stick it out for another year. It also looks like my hours will be cut and may be working 4 days a week, which is not a bad thing, as I can refocus my energy into writing.
Fitness
- Not happening at present, and mainly due to the inflammation in my joints. Though I am using the balancing board for short periods of time.
Photography
- Sorry, I didn’t get around to taking any, though I may be able to scrounge around and find some from the previous month.
Food and wine
- Still on the food plan, and wine intake is moderate.
Professional Goals
Teaching
- I feel so much lighter since deciding on not going for promotional positions. I will redirect my focus on teaching in the classroom and working with students.
Writing
- Sales have slowed for The Guardian’s Legacy, which is to be expected. What I need to work on is marketing strategies that don’t turn off potential readers and possibly new followers. I don’t know any influential people, and I don’t have time to interact to make connections. Sigh… where to from here? (If you have any ideas or tips, love to hear from you)
I have started reading the Serenity Prayer this month.
The last few months has been challenging at home. It is amazing how many unpleasant occurrences have happened since December 2020, but I then recall the life my grandmother had and how difficult it was for her. What she endured was tough, and her example of how to be resilient is my resolve to get past it and look ahead to the future. A new year looms and with it, positive changes.
Thank you for your continued support and as always, I look forward to your comments and will respond.
