Goals for November/December

November and December were hectic months. For one, it was the end of the school year, which is always crazy with wrapping up curriculum units, writing reports and end of year celebrations with Year 12s finishing their final year of schooling. In between all this, I was prepping for a book launch, a lot of tying up loose ends, and now I need to revise what worked and what didn’t.

Let’s see how I went …

Personal Goals

  • Home and work balance
    • With the change of seasons, going from Spring to Summer, always makes me feel better. I had more time for me! I managed to read more books. I missed reading and need to factor that into next year’s goals.
  • Learn meditation
    • I started meditating! Woohoo! I downloaded Insight Timer app and have started with easy meditation sessions. I even signed up for a few challenges. Challenge is right! Just to sit down and meditate is hard to complete, that is when time poor.
  • Fitness
    • I updated my phone and had to start again with the steps. ☹ I’ll just have to improve and reach my record of 450, 000 steps and achieve them earlier than what I recorded in October.
  • Photography
    • I haven’t taken any photos. Really need to work on this as I love taking photos.

Professional Goals

  • Writing
    • I had released a new book, Minotaur’s Lair on the 13th December. I am going to review soft launches and hard launches now that I’ve done both as few times. I must admit to being a little apprehensive at adding up how much it cost to pay for the promotion services I used and cost for merchandise, not including editing and book cover costs.
    • My focus is now on the Coin of Time series. The draft of Book 2 is complete and I’ve done a number of edits with more to do, and Book 3 is partially written.
  • Teaching
    • A bit over it to be honest.

So, looking ahead to 2023, I’ll revise my goals further and tweak them. I need to make them more actionable and that requires stepping through what I want to achieve in the next twelve months. What about you, did you achieve your goals for 2022? Love to hear from you.
