I missed the deadline for updating my goals … again ☹ The past two months zipped by and it was hectic. If you have been following my blog, you’d have read I’ve a new book soon to be published and a lot of my focus has been working towards identifying promotions and marketing strategies, areas I’m not very strong at or comfortable with. Plus, this past term at school has been rather stressful and busy, and it was Winter here in the southern hemisphere. I am so glad it is Spring, and looking forward to the warmer weather. Seeing the flowers in bloom and clear blue skies is uplifting.

Moving on, this is what I’ve been up to:

Personal Goals

• Home and work balance
  • The late finishes this past term has taken a toll on my energies, and my patience with students was tested. All I can say is the end of the school term couldn’t come fast enough. The profession of teaching has changed a lot and I’m not enjoying what is happening. It is no wonder teachers are leaving in droves. Not enough support from school leaders and teachers are left out in the cold. There needs to be a shift in the way teachers and staff are treated by parents, students and the community or you can kiss the occupation goodbye.
• Learn meditation
  • Yep, still not happening.
• Fitness
  • The late nights home from school made it difficult to exercise. Although, I managed to get reach 330K steps and so far, walked 205km.
• Photography
  • We went away for a week down south and did take photos. Here’s a few I took most recently.

Professional Goals

• Writing
  • This is progressing well, with Minotaur’s Lair to be published on the 13 December. Just working through the promos and marketing as mentioned above. I will be posting a few competitions as well so keep checking in. Here’s the first competition:

  • Book 2 in the Coin of Time series has taken a back seat while I’m working on the upcoming release of Minotaur’s Lair. I have changed the title of Book 2 The Parisian Secret didn’t quite work with the narrative and now is The race for the lost coin.
• Teaching
  • I think I’ve said enough about teaching.
